Pewter Platter Alley, named for a tavern that once stood there which had as its trade sign a pewter platter. The Alley still exists today, as the 100 block of Church Street, running from Front to 2nd Street. All the 18th century buildings that once stood on it are long gone, though what appears to be an early 19th century building that fronts on 2nd Street stands at the northeastern corner of 2nd and Church Sts.
The 1785 listings and 1791 listings line up poorly, in part due to a lack of matchups, but also due to an uncertainty as to how Biddle numbered this alley.
