Mulberry Court lay on the west side of 6th St. between High (Market) and Mulberry (Arch) St.; it appears on the 1794 map of Philadelphia in the same approximate place as St. James Street does in the 1836 Tanner map, suggesting that the street was cut all the way through and renamed St. James Street in the early 19th century. MacPherson does not list any Mulberry Court, but does include entries for an otherwise unaccountable thoroughfare called Mulberry Alley. In the absence of evidence about this situation, all the information is presented here.
Incidentally, the U.S. Courthouse and William Green Federal Building occupy this entire block today, between 6th and 7th and Market and Arch.
